A Tribute to Sven Larsen

On May 10, 2002 Bright n' Beautiful lost a long time friend and supporter, Sven Larsen.

Sven is greatly missed by all of us.

His wife Inga joined the Bright n' Beautiful board in 1990. From that time on, Sven also became deeply involved in the organization. He volunteered at the spring cleanups; worked the thank-you BBQs; supported the Gateway Park project by contributing $500 to "Adopt a goose," which raised money for trees; attended our spaghetti dinner fundraisers and the annual Award Banquets.

To honor all Sven's contributions to Bright n' Beautiful, we will plant a tree in Descro Park as a living memorial.

Sven always wanted to be a part of the development of the park, which is across the east side of the ditch that runs through Millice Park, near the Larsen home.

Keeping true to their strong beliefs in and commitments to community volunteerism, Inga chairs the Descro Park development committee.

"It is fitting that his tree be planted there," she said.

Donations to help make this vision a reality are welcomed and encouraged. Anyone interested in contributing may contact the Bright n' Beautiful office at 248-6617.
